Jérôme Perrod, CEO of Buffet Group, succeeds Patrick Selmer as President of the CSFI (French Union of Instrument Makers).
Unanimously elected by professionals of the music industry, Jérôme Perrod says he is «very honored to take up the torch after Patrick Selmer's eighteen-year governance, a man who inspired the most ambitious projects, managed to bring orchestras to schools and ensured the quality of instrument making for all these years. »
With election of Perrod, a new page is being written in the history of instrument making. The new President will be able to work with a partially renewed team, as Fanny Reyre Ménard, representative of stringed-instrument makers, will join CSFI as Vice-President, as well as Yamaha’s Bernard Weil, who will bring his experience as a Vice-President. Jean-Marie Paul de Vandoren remains General Secretary and Bernard Maillot will continue to serve as treasurer.
One of the most important decisions taken during the General assembly consisted in redefining the mission of the, which until then was in charge of the events abroad. Commission N°2 will now be dedicated to developing the French expertise in the field of instrument manufacture.
Many more challenges are awaiting this new team, among which the development of music education, instrumental practice, the culture of the « Made in France » and its promotion on a global scale.
